Summary
NoS Summary - girls giving kittens a bath - they are hung in socks to dry.
British Pathe synopsis: "Naughty kittens, that dirty their mittens." intertitle is followed by a high angle shot of a young girl (7 or 8 years old) giving a kitten a wash. Camera shows a different angle revealing lots of girls washing kittens - they are all sitting out in the open air in front of tin basins of water. "this is a large school where girls are taught to look after their domestic pets." Top shot showing the group of girls sitting on the grass hard at work. M/S of three girls and their kittens. They rub them up and down a wash board. C/U of a little girl carefully combing her kitten’s hair with a large brush. She gives it a kiss when she has finished. "Every day is Saturday night here ..." the kittens are all hung on the washing line to dry inside socks! C/U of two of the girls and their cats in socks. L/S of the washing line with the hapless kittens just hanging there with their front legs sticking out over the top. C/U of one of the little cuties - a black one. "Lunch - well-earned, too!" the girls sit on the grass feeding their kitties with little saucers of milk - high angle L/S. C/U of a girl cuddling three kittens.
