British Pathe synopsis: "Songs - songs - songs! The world echoes to the words and music of famous Composers whose appearance to us is unknown. For instance, how many singers of "I Passed By Your Window" would know the two lady composers - ?" Woman stands in a doorway with a young child. Miss May Brake and Miss Helen Taylor are the composers. They sit together at a table in a garden. A closer shot shows them working together on a composition. "And was it the quiet of a garden that gave Miss Brake her charming song "It’s Quiet Down Here"? Miss Brake plays with some children in a garden. She throws something for the young boy to catch "As a contrast we’ve all sung, whistled or danced to "Constantinople" - Meet the Composer..." Sheet music for various songs revolves in front of the camera. This dissolves into M/S of composer sitting at the piano. As he composes, images are superimposed on to the dark curtains behind him - presumably of Constantinople. "Mr Harry Carlton, whose "Constantinople", "Where Oh Where Do I Live", "One And One Are Two" and other catchy tunes have made our feet dance." Harry plays the piano, breaking off to write some music. C/U of notes being written onto music paper. "Then there’s the king of fascinating Musical Comedies - " C/U of two men sitting at a desk. C/U of a line of music being written: "You are looking at Franz Lehar - the great Composer." C/U of the composer and of his music. "What are we going to sing and laugh at next? Are our tunes going to have a "bacony" flavour?" reads an intertitle. This is followed by C/U of bacon being cut with a knife and fork. Dissolve into a man sitting at a table tucking into eggs and bacon. Intertitle reads: "Will "Why is the Bacon so tough?" replace the "Yes, We Have No Bananas" vogue? - Reginal (sic) Arkell and Charles Prentice (whose work in "If Winter Comes," "Last Waltz", "That’s a Good Girl," "Lucky Girl," etc., is well known) believe it is - " One man sits at the piano playing whilst another stands beside him and reads from sheet music. C/U of hands on the keyboard dissolve into a plate of bacon and eggs and black pudding. "It’s "Bacon, bacon everywhere - " and all too tough to eat!" C/U of man looking at a clock which then dissolves into a plate of bacon and eggs. C/U of hands writing music, dissolves into hands playing the piano. Dissolve into the laughing composers. - Keywords
