Summary
COI synopsis: Britain’s ‘Blue Streak’ rocket has been adapted for high altitude photographic survey work. It’s a unique system that can reach nearly the altitude and coverage of a satellite, yet which can all be parachuted safely back to Earth, and produce pictures with the clarity of low altitude photography. Developed as a result of close collaboration between government bodies and the British Aircraft Corporation, it’s been used by scientists at Reading University to evaluate the use of earth resources over large areas.
