- COI synopsis: In an operating theatre every speck of dust is a potential danger, especially severe in hip-joint surgery, where a large area of tissue is exposed. An air-conditioning specialist and a surgeon have jointly designed an operating enclosure and "space-suit" operating gowns to prevent every single air-borne bacterium from reaching the sterile area.
