Summary
COI synopsis: Despite all our efforts to figure it out, the weather remains one of the biggest mysteries to man. Nevertheless our modern equivalents of the old-fashioned weather vane are considerably more reliable. As Michele Brown finds out when she visits Britain’s Meteorological Office in Berkshire, predicting the weather these days is down to space-age monitoring instruments, world-wide telecommunications and one of the largest computers ever built.
