- COI synopsis: Man’s compulsive search for perfection dictates a continuous re-appraisal of past success. For the enquiring mind, it’s just not enough that something works adequately - it can always be improved. The prow of a fast boat seems to cut through the water like a knife, thrusting bow-waves out on either side. This may look romantic, but the boat has to climb over this self-created heap of water - adding to the fuel costs. A British naval architect has eliminated the bow-wave by trapping it in tunnels down the keel of the boat. Vortex recycles lost energy and rides her own rails of spiralling water. It makes for greater stability, more speed for less fuel, heavier cargoes.
