Summary
COI synopsis: Inflatable tents, miniaturised microwave ovens, tiny television sets: it’s possible to pack into a car everything the bon viveur could possibly need for a weekend. But portability not only has far reaching effects on our everyday lives - it’s also bringing about major changes in commerce, industry and medicine... No bigger than a briefcase, a computerised teleprinter makes communication by ‘phone fast, accurate and simple. For racing correspondents rushing to be first to file their copy with the sports desk, it separates the winners from the losers.
