Summary
COI synopsis: With oil drilling now taking place at increased depths, research into the capaciy of divers working under immense water pressure is crucial. There are limits to this pressure, which will eventually incapacitate the diver. But research has discovered that the affects of high pressure on the brain are counteracted by small doses of anaesthetic. Administered to the divers, the anaesthetic will enable them to continue their work without endangering their lives.
