Summary

COI synopsis: Half the world’s population are women, yet they make up only five percent of its scientists. Living Tomorrow looks at the work of four women who, despite the difficulties, have succeeded in the world of science whilst maintaining a normal family life. Mary Kendrick - an engineer whose work could save London from a major flood disaster. Her team have borne the responsibility for siting and assessing the value of the Thames barrage, a moveable dam now being built across the River Thames to hold back the sea.
