Summary
COI synopsis: Making our active world a little safer so often means limiting our freedom to enjoy it. In this issue we look at a few new ways of increasing safety which don’t mean living in cotton-wool. For many old people the independence of living alone is something they jealously guard. But what if they have an accident? Now an automatic alarm, triggered by a miniature transmitter or simply by lack of movement in the home, will telephone for help if something goes wrong.
