Summary
COI synopsis: To a patient who relies on an artificial leg it is very important that he can walk naturally. Conventional artificial legs bend at the knee and have to be swung forward in walking, but the new leg automatically telescopes at the knee instead. Thus at each step the artificial leg will clear the ground ready for the next step without any conscious effort by the patient.
