- Summary
- COI synopsis: Back in Britain, ‘Carrousel Britanico’ goes to a modern factory where television cathode ray tubes are made. These form the main part of television sets, the part which transforms the impulses from the television station into a picture. Production here is on a large scale - there are almost three kilometres of overhead conveyor belts, a furnace capable of delivering well over 120,000 kilogrammes of molten glass a day, and sixteen completely automatic welding machines. Countless checks ensure that the tube is faultless and constant research has produced tubes of great strength and long life.
