Summary
COI synopsis: Born in Britain, football has grown to be the biggest sporting attraction in the world. To mark the centenary of the English Football Association, delegates of the International Football Association came to London, bringing gifts from their countries. Brazilian star Santos presented his country’s gift - a silver platter and a beautiful aquamarine. From Argentina came a valuable painting by Quinquala Martin, from Uruguay a "gaucho on horseback" by famous scupltor Belloni and many other gifts from all over the world, which were put on display in a special centenary room in London.
