- Summary
- COI synopsis: ‘Carrousel Britanico’ goes hundreds of miles into the wild forests of the Amazon basin with a farmer who collects Brazil nuts. These arduous journeys are necessary as Brazil nuts grow wild and this is the only place in the world where they can be found. After leaving the modern city of Manaos, they travelled by steamer, canoe and eventually by foot. The undergrowth was so thick that they had to hack every step of the way. The pods fall from the trees and are split open for their fruit - Brazil nuts - which are taken to a trading post and sold.
