MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rugby League Cup Final - Leeds V St Helens. DESCRIPTION: It was the ‘Battle of the Roses’ in this year’s Rugby League Cup Final, when Yorkshire’s Leeds met St Helens of Lancashire. St Helens took an early lead over the defending Champions when Graham Liptrot scored the first try of the match and Geoff Pimblett converted. At half-time the score was Leeds 5 - St Helens 12, but Leeds played steadily in the second half to pull back to 12 - all. Then two drop goals from John Holmes and David Ward gave Leeds the League Cup for the second year. SHOTLIST: LS teams onto pitch. MCU crowd. LS St. Helens (white) kick off. GV crowd. MCU Leeds play.
