- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: European Three Day Event. DESCRIPTION: The European Horse Trials return again to Burghley, the last time they were staged there, the Champion was Princess Anne, this year just a spectator. The horses tackle the Endurance Test of the Cross-Country Course with few casualties. When the Competition reaches the Show Jumping Phase, Britain and Germany are in contention for the Team Championship. For Great Britain it was to be a double triumph winning the Team Event and Lucinda Prior-Palmer on ‘George’ winning the Individual Title. Miss Prior-Palmer is the first person to win the European Title twice. SHOTLIST: GV Burghley House with 2 horses in foreground. CU small girl pan to horse’s head.
