Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: World Cup Skiing. DESCRIPTION: At Sudelfield in Bavaria were held the World Cup Free-Style Skiing Competition. At another Bavarian town, Oberstdorf, Tony Innaeuer of Austria makes a world record Ski-Jump. SHOTLIST: MS person coming off of small jump and does a backwards somersault. MS another person doing a backwards somersault on skis. MS a man doing a forward somersault. MS a man doing a somersault with a twist in it. MS a person doing the splits in mid air. MS a person spinning in the air. MS a person doing two backward somersaults. MS a person coming off of a slope and doing a forward somersault and twist. MS man doing backward somersault. MS man walking in air followed by two men doing somersaults. MS man spinning comes into picture. MS man doing backward somersault. MS man coming off ramp, he does three backward rolls. MS man coming off ramp, he does a somersault and crashes. WORLD CUP SKI-JUMPING GV Oberstdorf, pan around and zoom into church. MLS zoom into ski jump tower. MS people and competitors milling round. Tilt up to see height of tower. CU boots being put in the ski clamps. MCU jumper’s neck being massaged. MS lights changing to let first one jump, they change at 452’. MLS looking up length of jump from bottom as skier comes down and past. Pan (slow motion). MS another jumper taking off in slow motion. Pan with him, he lands at 500’. MS people watching. Pan to see skier go past. MS jumper just leaving the jump (slow motion). Tilt with him he lands at 531’. MS skier coming up carrying skis. MS skier just about to launch himself down track he starts at 545’. MLS as skier comes down slope. MS skier coming off slope pan with him. MS another skier starting. Pan with him, he lands at 577’. MS skier on ground after above jump with hands in air, pan as he comes to stop. CU man adjusting his skis. Tilt up to face. MCU man watching. Tilt down to see him holding the jumper’s skis. Pan as skier goes. MS skier coming down slope. Pan with him. MS above skier leaving slope. Pan with him. He lands at about 621’, this is Toni Innaeuer of Austria. His jump is 176 metres. MS people watching. MS skier coming off of slope (slow motion). Pan with him. This is the above world record jump by Toni Innaeuer of Austria in slow motion. He lands at 651’. MS Toni Inneauer being congratulated.
