MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: South Bank Christmas Tree. DESCRIPTION: Thought to be the biggest Christmas Tree in Europe, this gift from the people of Norway has been erected on the South Bank. It is part of the Restoration Appeal for Canterbury Cathedral and the Prince of Wales was there to switch on the lights. SHOTLIST: GV South Bank, River Thames, Parliament in b/g at night. LV ditto. SV sign "Help Save Canterbury Cathedral" etc. SV pan down another sign. Prince Charles on rostrum to press button to light up tree. SV pan up tree illuminated. SV Prince Charles walks away from rostrum. CU base of tree pan to top of tree. CU lights on top of tree. SV ditto. SV kids looking up. SV pan down illuminated tree. GV illuminated Christmas tree.
