Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Leeds V Liverpool Charity Shield. DESCRIPTION: The Football Association Charity Shield match at Wembley between cup holders Liverpool and Leeds United last season’s League Champions. SHOTLIST: MS 2 teams walking onto pitch led by Managers Brian Clough (Leeds) and Bill Shankly (Liverpool). CU Manager Clough clapping Shankly, 2 teams file past camera. Captains of both teams place cup and League Championship Shield on table. CU Charity Shield. CU ball, Leeds kick off. GV play moving towards Liverpool goal, ball caught by goalie, crowds cheering. MS general play, Leeds attacking. CU Smith of Liverpool and Hall (Liverpool) attacking Gray of Leeds who retains ball and centres. Liverpool defender heads away. GV play. GV Liverpool attacking, Keegan shoots, stopped by Harvey but Boersma knees ball in. Scoreboard Liverpool winning 1 nil at half time. MS general play Liverpool attacking to goal area but cleared by Leeds defender. CU Leeds supporter cheering. MS general play in Liverpool area scramble for ball, beginning of incident. Crowd with police in front. MS Keegan walking off field throws shirt to ground. MS Bremner walking along touch-line without shirt. CU feet players dribbling with ball pan up to Gray who centres ball, MS Leeds player shoots and goalie saves but ball bounces loose for another shot which goes wide. MS Liverpool goalie saving throwing ball up field. MS Liverpool attacking goalie dives for ball, general punch up as McQueen rushes in between players fighting, referee Mathewson intervenes. Crowds cheering in CU. LS Reaney centering ball zoom in as Cherry takes ball on head & heads into goal to equalise. LS scoreboard 1 all. LS penalty sequence scores, low shot penalty score, penalty by Leeds goalie Harvey misses over bar. Callaghan scores 6-5 win for Liverpool. Liverpool crowd cheering. Bill Shankly and team with shield. ENDS.
