MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tall Ships Race Colour. DESCRIPTION: The Duke of Edinburgh on board the Royal Yacht Britannia takes the salute at the Parade of Sail, the climax of this year’s Tall Ships Race. Ships from all over the world competed in these races and gathered in the Solent for the Parade. SHOTLIST: GV Americo Vespucci at sea, biggest ship. MS sea shot through porthole. MS sea races past shot from deck of tall ship shows rigging. TS smaller yacht shot from crows nest (Talkoo) Class B. MS man turning handle of winch which pulls in one of the sails. GV sail starts to get slack. MS shot from deck of rigging and spinnaker blow out as the ship moves along at speed. MS side of ship as it cuts through water. MS sea going at speed. MS sails of another ship, tilt down to deck (Dar Pomorza) Class A. MCU ship’s bell. TS crew pulling on ropes. CU member of crew pulling on ropes. GV sails. MS crew pulling on rope tilt up to sails. GV Dar Pomorza. MS small boats that follow shot from tall ship. MS man at wheel. GV from shore Pomorza surrounded by other craft. MS woman looking through binoculars. GV Pomorza passes Britannia at Cowes. MCU crew saluting Philip, pan to Britannia. GV another ship sails past with crew saluting ‘Sir Winston Churchill’. MCU woman looks through binoculars. GV another ship ‘Kruzershtern’ shot from shore Class A. MS crew on deck of ditto (Russian) from sea tilt up to sails. GV ditto, it sails past surrounded by small craft, GV ditto still surrounded by small boats, it passes Britannia zoom out. ENDS.
