MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Duke Visits Royal Sovereign Lighthouse Colour. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Sovereign Lighthouse in the Channel off Eastbourne, receives a visits from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The Duke is there in his capacity as Master of Trinity House to see this modern ‘Light’ which was completed in 1971. SHOTLIST: GV air shot of lighthouse. MS lighthouse through window of helicopter as it lands. MS helicopter lands. MS roto blocks going around. MS lighthouse officers watch. MS Duke climbs down from pilot’s seat & is handed his hat, then greeted by members of board of Trinity House. MS the group looking at plaque. MCU plaque which comes from old lightship. CU plaque. MS Duke in control room looks at radar. MS ship goes past out at sea. MS lighthouse keeper checking light.
