- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Grand Prix - News in Colour. DESCRIPTION: The British Grand Prix at Silverstone 1973, with the spectacular crash that takes nine cars out of the race, luckily there was no one seriously hurt. American Peter Revson goes on to win, with Ronnie Peterson second and Denny Hulme third. SHOTLIST: GV mechanics working on various cars in paddock in early preparation stage. GV Marshal’s flag down oncoming cars amidst confusion. SV pan 2 cars racing towards the wreckage & pulling up sharply. SV wrecked car of Scheckter No 30. LV people surrounding wrecked car. LV wreckage of other cars and people around ambulance. SV wrecked No 23 car. GV confusion around wrecked cars. SV back end of wrecked car. SV mechanics helping to lift wrecked car on to break down truck. GV crowds around ambulance where Andre de Adamich is injured in his car No 9, trapped for about 1 hour. LV pan cars lined up on grid for re-start (only 19 cars left). LV starter drops flag pan to cars away on second start. GV as they race towards Copse Corner with Ronnie Peterson in lead, pan as cars race round Copse Corner. GV cars racing round Becket’s Corner with Peterson No 2 in lead. SV pan at speed ditto - first lap. SV pan as cars race round Club Corner in following order, No 2, 21 & 5 followed by others - 1st lap. SV as they race round Copse Corner in same order - 2nd lap. GV racing round Becket’s Corner with Peterson in lead pan at 337’ on No 5 Stewart lying 2nd - 2nd lap. SV pan No 21 racing close behind No 21 Niki Lauda - 2nd lap. SV pan followed by Emerson Fittipaldi. SV pan as they race round Club Corner in same order 2, 5, 21, 1, 7, 8 & others. CU flashing past. SV cars racing round Club Corner showing that Stewart (No 5) has now dropped back to 13th place having tried to overtake Peterson and skidded off track onto grass on 7th lap. CU crowd watching. SV pan Graham Hill in car No 12 on Becket’s Corner. CU as Hill rounds bend followed by other cars. LV crowds watching. CU cars flashing past. LV ditto grandstand. SV pan Hill slowing down at Becket’s Corner. SV Hill climbing out of car as others flash past. SV car No 1 Fittipaldi in lap 37 (loses drive to rear wheels on this lap). CU pan Francois Cevert racing past in car No 6. CU pan car No 8 Peter Revson in Yardley McLaren now in lead at lap 52 (order then 8, 2, 27, 7). SV cars racing round Club Corner in following order. No 8 Revson, No 2 Peterson, No 7 Hulme, No 27 Hunt. CU pan Revson racing for finish. SCU pan Peterson lying second, SV pan No 7 Danny Hulme lying third. SV Revson flashes past chequered flag to win followed by 2, 7 & 27. LV winner Revson drinking and shaking champagne bottle. SV Revson squirting champagne over crowds.
