Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monaco Grand Prix. DESCRIPTION: In windy and wet conditions, Monaco Grand Prix got under way in what was to be the slowest Grand Prix for 20 years! A few cars were bent and some pride damaged. It was won by Beltoise of France. SHOTLIST: SV start of race. STV car No 17 round S bend. LV zoom in car 8 comes round bend. BV cars coming up to bend throwing up spray. LV cars come down straight No 12 in front. CU pan to back view No 17 past and away. SCU No 6 comes round bend pan past camera. SCU pan No 8 past & away. SV No 12 followed by No 19 down straight and into bend towards camera. LV car stopped at side of track, another car races past in front of stopped car. SV No 1 turning round on track, No 10 stopped on far side of course, No 4 comes up as No 1 starts away. LV car racing down straight, another car stopped at side of track. SV towards car comes down straight through spray. SV spectators with umbrellas. SV two cars racing down straight through spray. TV pull back and pan No 17 followed by No 19 race round S bend. LV No 5 spun sideways across track, being passed by No 7. SV pan No 5 past along straight. SV pan No 17 round series of bends, past camera. LV car at speed along straight. BV car racing down straight. SV finishing line top of car flashes past (near camera). SV Jean-Pierre Beltoise being presented with trophy by Prince Rainier & Princess Grace. LV Beltoise with trophy waving to crowds.
