Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: 1,000 Kilometres Race. DESCRIPTION: At Francorchamps - the 1,000 kilometre race. Redman of Great Britain and Mergario of Italy win the event. SHOTLIST: MS towards and pan car No 2 driven by Peterson & Schenken, comes into pit, driver climbs out as mechanics crowd round to refuel car etc. MS pan to BV as cars race along straight. MS towards car No 3, followed by another, races round bend. MS pan car No 1 ditto past spectators. MS pan No 3 ditto. LS towards pan to BV car No 1 races down straight. AS two cars racing round track. MS No 1 comes into pits & drivers change over as mechanics crowd round car. CU driver MS No 3 drives into pits, mechanics crowd round Merzario gets out and Redman takes over. LS towards pan to BV as car No 1 drives into pits with blown out rear tyre. MS mechanics take off damaged wheel, pan from damaged wheel on road to back of car. MS mechanics replace rear of car. LS towards pan to BV as No 3 crosses line to win. MS spectators. CU winning drivers, Redman & Merzario walking to collect trophy.
