Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Daily Mirror Off Shore Boat Rally. DESCRIPTION: Sailing and engined powered boats taking part in the Daily Mirror Rally. The overall winner was 67 year old Mr Claye who received the trophies from Lady Trehane. SHOTLIST: LV sun, pan down to Daily Mirror offshore boats being prepared. SV pan over as two offshore boats put up sails. CU pan up from bottom to top of sail. SV Penthouse pet leans into cabin & checks Volvo engine. CU girl’s finger presses start button (Volvo engine). CU pistol fires for start of race. SV boats sail away. CU sail of boat No 361 - pan to Penthouse pet standing on bow. SV boat 361 with Penthouse crew. SV Penthouse pet in stern operating rudder. LV boat 361 with Penthouse crew. CU girl standing on bow. FV boat. SV another girl looking out from boat alongside sail. GV various boats racing. SV boat No 168 sailing past. LV boat 168 winning race from Chichester to Yarmouth pan up to sun. GV various offshore boats in Weymouth Harbour. SV 2 men (1 on the right, Mr Maurice Claye) overall winner - pan down to his son on their boat Floatsam. GV interior prize giving in progress. Angle shot three cups, a hand comes into picture and takes the Daily Mirror cup away from shelf. SV Maurice Claye receives two cups from Lady Trehane being overall winner.
