MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Road Research. DESCRIPTION: A look at the work being carried out by the Road Research Laboratory. The latest development in the Channel Tunnel project - computerised taxis for the future - and road tests on both trucks and cars are all featured. SHOTLIST: GV Road Research Centre. SV sign Road Research Lab. SV plan of Channel Tunnel exit, pan to line of cars waiting to go on carriage. SCU woman in car. CU zoom out cross section models. GV cars driving onto mock up. SCU man takes notes. tracking shot along tunnel. GV cars drive off other end. SV interior labs man walks up to test rig. SV as they set up train. SCU man operating train. SCU as as adjustments are made, pan up. SCU power switched on. SV train shoots off at speed. SV train passes shot. SV train to a half. GV scale model of taxi service. LV pan zoom as lorry takes a roundabout & tips. GV pan as car skids on corner (poor tyres). GV pan as car takes corner ok (good tyres). LV pan 2 cars along straight track at speed, the nearest stops while the other continues (one track poor service), zoom out.
