Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: East Pakistan Disaster. DESCRIPTION: The scale of the latest disaster to hit East Pakistan is not yet known. But it’s feared that up to 250,000 people may have died following the cyclone and tidal wave which all but obliterated some islands on the Bengal coast. The area has long been the target for cyclones and floods. We show film of the devastation following a hurricane in 1965. SHOTLIST: GV flooded fields. 2 shots flooded huts. GV interior ditto. SV exterior ditto & 2 men sitting outside. LV old man collapsed by makeshift shelter. GV 3 shots huts half under water. SV boy on raft with boats. SV man driving oxen through water.
