- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: World Cinema. DESCRIPTION: An exhibition at the Round House to mark the 75th anniversary of the cinema. Stars at the opening include American silent screen comedian Harold Lloyd whose 1927 film Kid Brother opened the show. Princess Alexandra is guest of honour to launch a feast of motion picture memories. To mark the anniversary Movietone delves into its archives to present some of the earliest events ever filmed. From the London Fire Brigade in action in 1890 to the Prince of Wales’ Derby win with Persimmon in 1896. From beach sports in the Naughty Nineties to the great San Francisco earthquake.
