Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Britain Wins at Punchestown. DESCRIPTION: Britain walks away with the honours at the World three-day equestrian championships in Ireland. Heavy rain makes conditions difficult for competitors in the endurance event when they tackle 33 stiff fences. SHOTLIST: GV course. SV rider mounts No 23 Posache. SV rider mounts No 40 Strash. CU board showing runners & riders. CU sign Start Phase A. LV horse starts Phase A. SV pan 39 Broken Promise starts. SV pan No 40 starts. LV No 10 Chester jumps cartwheel fence, pan as he rides towards & past. SV onlookers. LV pan No 11 Benson through water & round to next jump. LV pan No 16 Richelieu attempts same jump but at 71’ the rider falls off. SV No 16 starts off again. LV No 17 Chicago crashes into fence, throwing rider. SV crowds watching. LV No 17 second attempt clears fence but at 101’ slips & falls over rider starts to remount & rides off again. No 18 Quaker jumps fence pan as he rides towards & past. SV crowd mingling. LV No 27 Castle Richard over fence, pan as he rides past & behind bushes. LV rider nearly falls at jump but manages to stay on, pan as he rides past. GV course. SV towards horse finishes course. CU horse pan to rider No 37 as he walks past. CU rider off Jefaze (No 1) being congratulated. SCU horse being brushed down.
