Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England V N Ireland. DESCRIPTION: Playing in his hundredth International, top Soccer star Bobby Charlton captains England against N Ireland at Wembley. The Irish team put up a good fight but eventually go down 3-1. Charlton makes it almost a benefit night by scoring the last goal of a thrilling match. SHOTLIST: W sign ‘CONGRATULATIONS BOBBY CHARLTON’. SCU Charlton leads team out. TV Charlton presented with Silver Tray. CU Charlton with tray. CU ball. TV Northern Ireland kick off, left to right. Ireland attack, down field towards end goal, ball to goalie. W crowd. TV Best (Ireland) No 8 down field, loses ball to Charlton, he clears, TV ball is kicked over No 11, Ireland for corner kick. GV Charlton takes corner kick to centre No 11 Peters, heads it in to score for England 1-0, players up field. LV scoreboard at half time 1-0. TV England kick off (right to left). GS play towards Ireland goal & back up field. TV Best No 8 shoots & scores, players embrace Best. W scoreboard 1-1. GV midfield play towards Ireland goal. TV ball kicked to centre towards Ireland’s goal by Newton. GV Hurst No 10 heads it in to score, pan to board saying goal. W scoreboard 2-1. GV play towards Ireland, Hurst heads ball to hit cross bar, then Kidd heads and Alain hits bar, ball is kicked out of play. W crowd. TV No 3 Hughes passes to centre to Charlton who scores, 3-1. GV players embrace.
