- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Disaster on a Summer’s Day. DESCRIPTION: Farmers in Queensland and New South Wales have poured their capital into drilling wells and building dams. The recorded rainfall in New South Wales is the lowest for 94 years. With the drought came the bush fires and worst hit, the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales and the State of Victoria. Many homesteads have been completely destroyed. A sheep station was completely devastated. Stock have been killed trapped by fences as they tried to escape. SHOTLIST: GV dried up river bed.
