Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Showbiz Gifts for Children. DESCRIPTION: The climax of a campaign to collect 15,000 toys for Christmas was helped along by such personalities as Stanley Baker and Davy Kaye. Sid James was Father Christmas, ably supported by Dicky Henderson. They were helping to make a happier Christmas for thousands of sick and crippled children. Similar toy campaigns have been staged by the Variety Club in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham. This year the Club’s raised nearly half a million pounds for Children’s Charities.
