- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Paris at Their Feet. DESCRIPTION: The highest and most famous tower in the world is the one built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889. And, helping to celebrate its 75th anniversary, 4 mountain climbers attempting to scale the outside of it, 3 Frenchmen and 34 year old Londoner, Ian MacNaught-Davis. All of them are skilled climbers among the peaks of Europe and Asia, but newcomers to this spider web of steel. Apart from the mast on top, the height of the actual tower is 984 feet.
