- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Air Lift for Industry. DESCRIPTION: One base for the new power line between Lydd in Kent to Ninfield in Sussex is a supply dump in East Sussex with all the material needed for building the pylons. But instead of a fleet of lorries and dumpers, they’re using helicopters to transport the concrete and steel to the site of each pylon. As well as speeding up the job, ‘copters cause the minimum disturbance, no disruption or damage to farming land, no congestion in narrow country lanes. It’s one of the largest industrial airlifts ever carried out in Britain. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV helicopter on site. CU cement pouring into bucket. GV same carried away. GV helicopter takes off.
