Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Gateway to Wales. DESCRIPTION: Perhaps you’ve used the car ferry that crosses the River Severn between Aust near Bristol and Beachley near Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales. In the Summer its one of the busiest links between the West Country and Wales. But in a few years time, the ferry will have become uneconomic and obsolete. The reason is the slender spiders web of steel nets just been spun across the Severn. Twin catwalks outline the shape of the New Severn Bridge, which will take about three years to complete.
