- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Stars on Parade. DESCRIPTION: Battersea Park, and the Variety Club’s annual ‘showbiz-gala’ in aid of charity. Kenneth More, as host was really making the most of it. Some of the stars taking part were, Hugh O’Brien in the autograph tent, Harry Corbett, son of Steptoe, Sid James, and Barbara Windsor. The ‘Miss Variety Club’ contest was interesting and the winner was Mrs Squires. Through events like this, the Variety Club have raised over a million pounds for children’s charities.
