Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Please Send Rain. DESCRIPTION: Since last September hardly a drop of rain has fallen on Hong Kong. The drought has become so serious that for the first time Hong Kong Buddhists have asked for divine intervention. Three times a day prayers are offered to Buddha for rain. For another ceremony, 500 birds bought in Hong Kong markets were anointed with water for purification. Then after prayers they were released from captivity. A simple act, symbolising the ancient Buddhist belief that good thoughts produce good results. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV field. MS boy watering same (2 shots). GV exterior temple. GV interior same.
