Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: New Life Saver. DESCRIPTION: The pride of the Royal Lifeboat Service, their latest and biggest boat. She’s built on a ‘self-righting’ principle, to cope with the ultimate in rough seas! She’s also the first British lifeboat to be fitted with radar. When her trials are completed, she’ll be leaving Littlehampton - for Edinburgh, and after that she’ll be based at Yarmouth. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV life-boat at sea. MS front of same. For the first time the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has produced a lifeboat of the larger class, with a cabin and shelter for the crew and survivors. The boat is 48-foot 6 inches, and is the first to be fitted with radar.
