Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Canoes and Crocs. DESCRIPTION: Five Olympic canoeists were among forty entries for this canoe race near Sydney. It’s an eight mile course around the coast, with competitors using slalom-kayaks, double kayaks and racing skis. The event was won by Australia’s Phillip Coles, his time: 51 minutes, three seconds. Mrs Vlasop of Cairns, North Queensland, wife of one of Australia’s best known crocodile-hunters, keeps twenty-six crocodiles. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV start of race.
