Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour to Brighton. DESCRIPTION: The world-famous Regency Pavilion, familiar to every visitor, was an obvious must for the Queen and Prince Philip, who were spending a day touring Brighton and the surrounding district. At the Brighton and Hove Stadium, the Queen and Duke inspected members of local youth clubs and other young people’s organisations. Among those on parade were winners of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. Then, a visit to George Street. After cutting the tape, Her Majesty, who was accompanied by the Mayor, Alderman Button, walked along this ancient thoroughfare which is to be part of Brighton’s preservation scheme.
