Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Men’s AAA - White City. DESCRIPTION: White City Stadium, London, and in the 100 yards, Peter Radford was beaten into second place by Saraphino Antao, in 9.8 seconds. He also won the 220 in 21.1 seconds. Left-handed John McSorley won the javelin with 260 feet. Now, the 440 yards. After a good start, Robbie Brightwell was challenged by Davis of South Africa, but managed to hold him off. Brightwell won by a clear 6 yards in 45.9. The three miles proved to be just as exciting. Here’s Bruce Tulloh, battling it out with Bruce Kidd, the 18-year-old Canadian. But bare-footed Tulloh stormed through to win in 13 minutes 16 seconds, a championship record. SHOTLIST: GV White City.
