- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Variety Club - Battersea. DESCRIPTION: Nearly 20,000 fans turned up to enjoy the fun of the fair and do a bit of star-gazing at Battersea Gardens and the Variety Club Gala. Kenneth More was the host. Stars included Jack Hawkins, Messrs Bentine, Mills and James, Carroll Baker, Eartha Kitt, David Jacobs and many others. There was also a beauty contest to find Miss Variety Club. The Gala raised over £3,500 for charity. SHOTLIST: Group shot on the water chute. Bunch of film stars passing camera.
