- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Swansong for Trollies. DESCRIPTION: Our pictures show one of London’s original trolleybuses which first made an appearance there back in 1931. Brought from honourable retirement in the British Transport Museum, it was to be a ceremonial journey to mark the closing of London’s trolleybus network, once the largest in the world. Escort was provided by the last of the present-day trolleys along the original route from Twickenham to Teddington. SHOTLIST: MS trolleybus. Front of trolley. Inside bus. People get onto bus. Leaving station. Sign London’s Last Trolley. People waiting for the last bus into garage. Bulldozer pushes trolley - trolley being destroyed.
