- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Fattening Factory. DESCRIPTION: There’s a model farm not far from Montreal, where cattle are fattened before being sent for slaughter. The set-up is rather like a super-factory, no old-fashioned haylofts. Instead, air-tight silos are used for storing fodder. The whole place is push-button-operated, especially the feeding arrangements. Diets are scientifically controlled according to the stage reached in the fattening process. When the beasts arrive, they weigh something under 800 lbs. When they leave, more often than not they tip the scale at 1,500! SHOTLIST: Key scene. TS cattle entering pens. GV cattle and huge silos in background. MS panning shots of silos. LS man pushing buttons. CU finger pushing button (these buttons are for the feeding arrangements of the cattle).
