MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Under the Alps. DESCRIPTION: Here is a progress report on the tunnel under Mont Blanc. It’s a two-way task, Italians are tunnelling from their side (they started about three years ago), and have not yet gone two miles into the mountain. The entrance on the French side is near Chamonix, where work began later. Slightly better progress has been made here, and they have gone about two and a half miles in.
