Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Atlantic Hustler. DESCRIPTION: This is the American B58 Hustler bomber at Fort Worth, Texas, before its record-smashing flight to Paris. Major William Payne was the pilot for this three-man exploit, which commemorated Lindbergh’s solo trans-Atlantic trip thirty-four years ago. From Fort Worth, a spectacular take-off at night. To Washington and New York, then bang through the sound barrier to set an average speed of more than eleven hundred miles an hour. Three hours, nineteen minutes, forty-one seconds to Paris.
