MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tackling Traffic. DESCRIPTION: Wardens - Like so many cities, Leicester has traffic and parking problems of its own. Now traffic wardens, five of them women (the first in Britain), are on the job, helping to sort things out. As you’d expect, courtesy is to be one of their watchwords. A good idea, this, the first lady traffic wardens!. Flyover - After 2 years’ research and a year’s work, the Hammersmith Flyover is now making rapid progress. It’s to be 2,800 feet long and 61 feet wide, to provide dual carriage-ways. Unit by unit, the superstructure is now being built and 4 of the 16 spans are already in position. The flyover is to ease the flow of traffic to the West Country. Daredevils - Another idea for coping with traffic congestion comes from Florida, where daredevil drivers offer their own particular suggestions.
