- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ice Patrol. DESCRIPTION: John A MacDonald is the Queen of the Canadian ice-breaking fleet and the largest in operation in Canadian waters. In port for bunkering, she received an urgent call to go to the assistance of two ships, the Baie Comeau and the Granwood, ice-bound in the mouth of the St Lawrence, and was soon cutting her way through at speed.
