- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Christmas Cheer. DESCRIPTION: Every year, it’s the same story: leaving your shopping till the last minute, and then finding that everyone else has done the same! What a job it is: crowded streets pretty well everywhere, crowded shops, and so many things to choose from. The shops were bulging with good things, and it’s so easy to get fascinated by the toys for the kids! And how difficult it is to get the parcels home without breakages. And how difficult for the Post Office people to deal with all those packages and parcels that have not been packed with special care! And now, to get home, if we can. While on the subject of transport, here’s a word from the Transport Minister, Mr Marples. Now, to Father Christmas, who is always right in the thick of it. He finds distributing dolls and toys to sick children in hospital wards one of his most enjoyable tasks. And, of-course, he has to listen to endless demands in the stores.
