Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Motor Rally RAC. DESCRIPTION: Our pictures show competitors driving South towards the finish of the ninth RAC International Rally of Great Britain. It was over 2,000 miles of tough going (much of it in Scotland), and among special tests, the drivers had to tackle a skid-pan at Wolvey, and the races at Brands Hatch. Pat Moss, teamed with Ann Wisdom, had been having a very successful year. Driving an Austin-Healey Sprite, they took second place in their section of the rally, and made certain of the European title for women. Mrs Anne Hall of Huddersfield, driving a Ford Anglia, won the ladies’ cup. Eric Carlsson (Sweden) with British partner Stuart Turner drove a Swedish-built Saab in victory. SHOTLIST: Key scene.
